Knowit has signed a contract with CGI regarding delivery of application management and system development to the Swedish Transport Administration. The assignment will occur in collaboration with CGI and the Transport Administration’s own IT operations. Knowit contributes with resources to projects and application management assignments, in which the Transport Administration initially manages and distributes the work through CGI. The contract between CGI and the Transport Administration has a term of four years and an option of two plus one year, with a total value of around SEK 1.3 billion.
The Swedish Transport Administration is in charge of long-term planning of the transport system for road traffic, railway traffic, marine traffic and air traffic, as well as for building, operating and maintenance of state-owned roads and railways. The organization has 6,500 employees and headquarters in Borlänge. Delivery from Knowit will mainly be on site in Borlänge.
– We are very pleased that the Transport Administration has chosen this constellation as strategic IT service supplier. This reinforces us in our continued expansion within ITS and IT in roads and railways, says B-G Perlström, head of Knowit Borlänge.
In addition to Knowit, CGI has signed contracts with two other sub-contractors.
