Carbon Footprint Assessment in accordance with Greenhouse Gas Protocol reporting
Since 2018, Knowit performs annual Carbon Footprint Assessments to understand how our climate footprint is developing and which measures need to be taken in order for us to have at least halved our CO2e emissions by 2030 as compared with 2018, and to be entirely fossil-free by 2045. The reports are made in accordance with Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, an international reporting standard to calculate and report on an operation's climate impact.
The Carbon Footprint Assessment encompasses our direct emissions, such as travel to and from work and on business, as well as indirect emissions from electricity, heating and cooling of offices spaces, materials and goods in connection with the renovation of offices, waste, and transport.
We also measure and report on our climate impact due to operation of servers for our own use and for the clients when we service them with operative capacity. Based on the climate reports and through active measures, conscious choices, and carbon offsetting, we are now a climate-neutral company since January 1, 2019.
The calculations in our climate reports are made in accordance with a standard on climate neutrality called PAS 2060. Our climate neutrality has been reviewed and confirmed by ZeroMission in accordance with the standard.
